Ingredients

  • 4 boneless center-cut pork chops about 1 inch thick
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil or avocado oil
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Equipment

  • 1 Air Fryer
  • 1 Instant-read thermometer
  • 1 Small Bowl
  • 1 Tongs

Method

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 380°F for 3 minutes.
  2. Pat the pork chops dry with paper towels.
  3. Mix the smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, thyme, and black pepper in a small bowl.
  4. Rub the chops with oil, then coat both sides evenly with the seasoning mixture.
  5. Arrange the pork chops in a single layer in the air fryer basket, leaving space between them.
  6. Air fry for 5 minutes, flip, then cook for another 3 to 7 minutes, depending on thickness.
  7. Remove each chop when the thickest part reaches at least 145°F.
  8. Rest for at least 3 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Cooking time varies with chop thickness and air fryer model, so use temperature as the final guide.
  • Start checking thinner chops early and remove individual pieces as they finish.
  • Do not overlap the pork chops.
  • For extra browning, use 400°F only during the final minute and only when the chops are nearly done.
  • Nutrition is an estimate based on 5.5-ounce pork chops and olive oil; actual values vary.
